ZeeArts in collaboration with the Municipal Council of Port Louis launched the children Book “Betty Back to Life” on Wednesday 21st August
“An act of kindness, no matter how big or small, is never wasted”.
“Betty Back to Life” shows the very essence of compassion, generosity and patience. The story provides an insight of how a small action can bring tremendous inner satisfaction, happiness and ultimately can make a difference in the life of others. I have been inspired by a true story about my son Zeeshaan and his chick ‘Betty’
The illustration has been selected among the 150 World’s finest artists-illustrators under the Patronage of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan Bin Mohamed Al Qassimi, the Ruler of Sharjah, in UAE for the 2nd edition of the Sharjah Children’s Reading Festival. This edition brings a collection of exquisite, diverse and innovative illustrations made by the outstanding illustrators from Asia, Africa, Europe, America, Australia and this year from Mauritius as well.
After my nomination, I have decided to write a story to accompany the illustration and publish it to inspire the primary students. This community project is one of the objectives of Zee Arts Community which is a platform of emerging and leading artists where we foster community arts initiatives activities.
I would like to thank the Municipal Council of Port Louis, ENGEN and GBTT for their significant support and a special thanks goes to Ms Yasmin Mohammed, Mini Menon and Norman Khan
